Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks) to join our dynamic engineering team providing detailed design, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation for our industrial damper solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver accurate and timely design packages, control post-design engineering changes, and to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.

The role is based at our head office in Eastwood, Nottingham, UK.

About You

The ideal candidate will have worked in a bespoke steel fabrication environment and possess technical competence, a flair for the commercial aspects of business, and have knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes in a custom-made production environment. With a clear aptitude for effective communication, motivating, planning and delivering on agreed Company objectives, the Design Engineer will be able to work independently as well as contribute as a key member of our engineering team.

Essential criteria: Soft Skills

A great team player with a positive approach and a commercial outlook. Excellent communication skills with customers and team members. Working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages (Word, Excel, Power point etc.) Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills. Proven ability to work to deadlines and respond effectively to demanding customer requests.

Essential criteria: Qualifications & Technical Skills / Capabilities

Level 3 - Mechanical Engineering based qualification (ONC or above). Proven expertise providing 3d models and general arrangement, detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks. Experience of working in a Production/Manufacturing environment Simple wiring diagrams Pneumatics & Instrumentation Technical documentation

Desirable Criteria: Qualifications & Technical Skills / Capabilities

Level 5 - Mechanical Engineering based qualification (Bachelor's Degree). Experience of working for demanding and critical industry sectors, such as Oil and Gas/ Power.
