We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in vehicle repairs and maintenance, demonstrating expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues across various makes and models. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our family run business, contributing to overall efficiency and safety within the organisation.
Duties
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults or issues.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake replacements, and tyre replacements.
Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and tools.
Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
Report to front office on repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop or on-site.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance skills.
Experience
Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
Familiarity with various types of vehicles, and their components.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and customers.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering.
Certified MOT tester preferred.
