About this client/child:
Our client Frankie is 7 years old and lives with his family in Grafty Green. Frankie is an outgoing cheeky chap with a love for swimming, sensory play, jumping on his trampoline, playing games, and being the best big brother to his sister! Frankie has Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, he receives all his nutrition, fluid, and medication via his PEG, he is a wheelchair user and uses PECs to support his communication, along with sounds and facial expressions. Frankie is dependent on 1:1 support to meet all his health, care, and medical needs, along with his social, emotional, and overall development skills. He is currently recruiting an SEN Weekend and School Holiday Support Worker to join his small and friendly care team.
Overview of role:
Frankie\xe2\x80\x99s Support Worker will continually promote his independence and self-help skills and plan exciting activities Frankie can enjoy both at home and out and about in the community. The Support Worker will ensure Frankie has a fun-filled day packed with lots of things to do! It is very important to Frankie that his Support Worker facilitates his role as a big brother, he very much enjoys spending time with, looking out for, and playing with his little sister \xe2\x80\x93 they are like two peas in a pod (most of the time!) You will support Frankie with all aspects of his ADLs, manual handling, his PEG, and epilepsy/seizure management and at times implement his therapy programmes in a fun and creative way (training and guidance provided by his treating therapists). The Support Worker will receive a high level of client-specific training in all areas of Frankie\xe2\x80\x99s care plan and medical needs; however, it is essential that you have previously supported a client with epilepsy and managed seizures. The role involves supporting Frankie 1:1 and working both within his family home and out in the community.
