OVERVIEW
This is an interesting and diverse technically focused role for an individual who has a love of sports and keeps calm under pressure. You will need to be able to work in a challenging environment ensuring our live operations are uninterrupted and run smoothly at all times. Day to day you will be working within the MCR (Master Control Room) team monitoring live sports streams, responding to client support queries, checking live systems, dealing with 3rd party content providers and other troubleshooting tasks. Full on-the-job training will be given to the successful candidate so this role would suit an IT savvy individual who can grow and develop in this exciting opportunity with a new young company working in cutting edge streaming technology.
Primary Responsibility
Monitor each live stream for QOS (Quality of Service) and successful delivery
Consider service up time as high priority
Satellite downlinking, decryption & decoding
Verify & maintain operational booking tool
Receive and manage satellite bookings and feeds from content partners
Management of IP contribution circuits
Ensure that channels and feeds are routed onto live feeds in accordance with the outlined schedule
Monitor our CDN (Content Delivery Network) using monitoring tools, checking for throughput, latency and QOS
Ensure a high level of support to clients whilst adhering to strict company SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
Rock solid desktop applications knowledge
Good secondary education
Good fundamental knowledge of IT
Sound organisational skills
Prepared to work weekends and evenings when required
Access to own car/transport
Excellent team player
Desirable:
Previous experience with satellite/ IP ingest
Knowledge of satellite TV and or global broadcasters
Experience working in a support desk environment
Experience in betting / gaming industry
Knowledge of encryptions, working consumer and commercial encryptions
Knowledge of IRD's and enthusiast consumer grade STB's
Knowledge of commercial AV and RF infrastructures
Prior experience of shift work
Previous experience within an MCR environment
