The Materials Manager will lead the Materials Team to source, develop, commercialise, and deliver premium fabrics, trims, labelling and packaging, on time and in line with agreed strategy for each product and category, maximizing profit margins and adhering to Rohan brand and quality standards. Working across multiple product categories the role is responsible for leading the team to deliver compelling and innovative fabrics and trims, driving aesthetics to the highest level, retaining commercial viability and required performance attributes.

You will drive relationships between Rohan and suppliers to ensure standards and specifications are understood and executable, and development and production deadlines are met on time. The role will work across the Product team, to ensure that expected quality standards and deadlines are upheld from concept throughout production to delivery. Exceeding the quality expectations of Rohan customer is the key goal of this role.

Key Objectives:

• Daily management of the materials team, ensuring all critical path deadlines are met
• Developing and delivering market leading performance materials aligned to seasonal briefs, utilising our brand five pillars of protective, lightweight, packable, easy-care and versatile, as appropriate and relevant to the range, category, style and end use
• Partner with the Design Manager to lead research and propose appropriate materials, trims, finishes and technologies to support seasonal briefs, range direction and end-use. Inspire innovation and explore new concepts that expand on our brand defining products
• Maintain knowledge and expertise in latest technical developments in fibre, finishes, construction, and market trends, and its application to the final products.Continuously build advanced fabric expertise and network of industry contacts and sources
• Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of sustainable and low-impact ideas, sharing information to support the product sustainability roadmap and targets and embed this thinking across the materials team and wider product team
• Ensure materials meet Rohan\'s performance attributes, quality standards, testing requirements and sustainability requirements to support marketing claims (waterproof, DWR, wicking, odour management, UPF, etc) and all standards are met from the product briefs throughout to production
• Main point of contact and responsibility for all sourcing, development and commercialisation of fabrics and trims with the nominated suppliers ensuring quality to Rohan brand standards
• Partnering with the Technical Manager and Production Manager to set the seasonal calendar and critical path ensuring correct timings are allocated to each deadline
• Build and develop commercial awareness on the importance of hitting target cost prices and MOQ\'s to avoid any potential surcharge implications and margin erosion
• Lead costing on fabric and trims and ensure MOQ\'s, lead times, surcharges and production requirements are communicated throughout development and production

• Degree or similar qualification in a Textile related discipline
• Minimum 8 years\' experience in a similar role and/or business
• Knowledge and understanding of technical apparel and sportswear essential.
• Knowledge and understanding of Outdoor and Travel beneficial
• Willingness to travel within UK, EU and Asia
• Self-motivated with willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge.
