The opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Materials Engineer to work within our Metallic Materials team at our Helicopter Division, based in Yeovil.

Working as Materials Engineer you will contribute to our success by providing crucial support to our other business functions (Engineering, Customer Support, Production Plants & Quality) in terms of technical queries and specifications. You will be working within a laboratory environment with strong team links to our Italian colleagues, which could also provide opportunities to travel to our Italian sites.

If you have either experience or an interest in aerospace and metallic materials, with the ability to draft technical drawings and technical specifications then we would love to hear from you.

This role does demand an onsite presence.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do as a Materials Engineer:

• Execution of experimental activity (mechanical tests, corrosion tests) using the necessary laboratory equipment
• Analysis of specific documentation and reports
• Drafting technical reports
• Test and develop existing and new processes
• Compiling of Test Proposals (detailing the correct methods and test activities for process qualification)

What we need from you:

You really must have:

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Material Science, Mechanical Engineering)
• Experience in analyzing substantial amounts of data
• Knowledge of metallic materials
• Ability to draft technical drawings and technical specifications
• Proactive approach
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Scientific approach to problem solving
• Ability to work in multi-functional and multi-cultural team environments

It would be nice if you have:

• Aerospace experience
