Job Summary



Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, and working within our Purchasing Team, you will be responsible for placing orders, progress chasing deliveries and developing relationships with chosen suppliers.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure that purchased materials are ordered in a timely manner to meet the requirements as per the EFACS ERP system.

Manage rescheduling reports to ensure materials are scheduled to meet the requirement dates from the ERP system.

Maintain Supplier delivery dates on our PO's, as per those agreed with the supplier.

Maintain Purchasing Comments on EFACS where materials are not going to arrive in line with the ERP required dates.

Progress overdue deliveries each morning with suppliers.

Ensure selected suppliers provide an update of delivery dates via the weekly OrderBook report which is sent out automatically over the weekend.

Provide daily updates via the 'Production Issues Log' in respect of materials that are not going to arrive on time. This will ensure the business is aware of the issue.

Monitor contract performance via the 'Order Materials Coverage Report' which will highlight supply issues for any given production order.

Escalate any supply issues to The Supply Chain Manager

Reduce stock levels whilst maintaining enough stock to meet production requirements.

Ensure materials arrive in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the MRP dates.

Communicate issues via the 'Production Issues Log' and attendance to the daily review meetings with production (via Teams).

Develop good relationships with your Suppliers.

Manage your suppliers' schedules.

You will be expected to develop strong working relationships with shopfloor supervisors and managers

You will receive full training on all our systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



As a minimum for this role you should have the following experience and qualifications: -

Previous experience within a purchasing role would be an advantage

Experience of working in a manufacturing organisation would be an advantage and familiarity with ERP / MRP systems

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to build and maintain relationships

Proficient using Microsoft Office

GCSE in English and Maths

Hours



The hours for this role are 08:15 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday and 08:45 to 14:00 on a Friday. This is based on 37.75 hours per week.
