We help some of the biggest and smallest names in international sport business to do just that through a range of services. From our market leading Careers platforms, to specialist job advertising, to our end-to-end Embedded Hiring teams and beyond \xe2\x80\x93 we aim to support all stages of a sports business\xe2\x80\x99 growth and people\xe2\x80\x99s careers.

Role Overview

We are proud of the market leading position we have worked hard to establish since 2010, and a key part of this role will be to manage and enhance that brand position for the next decade. As our Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for leading the growth and development of our Marketing & Insights initiatives across the Global Sports brands. You will also play an integral part in us achieving our ambitious plans to expand Global Sports further across the UK and internationally. You will own all aspects of Marketing & Insights to grow and enhancing our B2C audiences and platform users, as well as enabling our B2B sales efforts across existing products and channels. We are a data-led business so this role will also be supported by an Insights & Data Partner, allowing us to capture, analyse and interpret key data of the market, users, clients and our own product and service performance.

We are a scale-up with big ambitions so there will always be lots of ideas we could execute through marketing, primarily to achieve three goals \xe2\x80\x93 growing our candidate audiences (B2C), developing new business opportunities (B2B) and enhancing the Global Sports brand position.

Key Accountabilities

Digital Marketing, Brand & Communications

  • Work with the COO to deliver the strategic Marketing plan to achieve the overall business objectives in line with the 5-year business strategy, focussing on customer acquisition, client conversion and Global Sports brand equity.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and optimisation of all Marketing efforts across Global Sports, measuring our performance and ROI both quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Maintain and develop the Global Sports brands across all channels both online and offline.
  • Improve the customer (candidates) acquisition and retention rates across all Global Sports platforms.
  • Ensure the resources and tools are in place to deliver quality and value as a Marketing team, utilising the appropriate technology and digital tools.
  • Embed a data centric approach within the Marketing team and wider business, especially Sales, effectively utilising our CRM system (Hubspot).
  • Develop and implement Insights led campaigns and proprietary messaging based on our position as a market leader in \xe2\x80\x98careers in sport\xe2\x80\x99.
  • Provide regular market insight and customer focused problems back into the business and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) so the business can refine messaging, innovate products, and develop new services.
  • Support the Sales team efforts by identify new opportunities (MQLs) with customers to deepen our relationships and add value across all our products and services.
  • Work closely with the COO and wider SLT to deliver compelling and effective campaigns for each business unit.
  • Work with the heads of business units to ensure we are aligned on product/service messaging and marketing assets and their implementation across the business
  • Identify industry events and PR opportunities for the business to attend or participate in to enhance our standing across Sports Business.
  • Own any industry Award entries that we choose to enter, in conjunction with the SLT or relevant subject matter experts in the business.
  • Ensure any future recruitment for the Marketing team is in line with our mission, purpose and values.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging channels, technologies, and best practices in marketing, and drive their adoption within the business to maintain a competitive edge.
Insights & Data
  • Lead and grow our Insights and Data team allowing us to analyse market trends, customer insights, and client activities to identify growth opportunities, drive innovation, and refine our marketing strategies.
  • Manage the Insights & Data Partner who will work collaboratively with our Platforms, Digital Advertising and Embedded Hiring teams to create and deliver compelling insights for clients and candidates.
  • Support the Sales team where possible with Insights and Data that creates compelling value propositions.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) of our Platform audiences to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns, report on results to clients, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the delivery, development and enhancement of monthly performance insight reports, providing greater ROI to clients.
  • Oversee our annual People Agenda Report which identifies global career trends across Sport Businesses, and showcase Global Sports as a market leader in career insights.
  • Manage relevant 3rd party suppliers and partners for Insights and Data in conjunction with our Head of Platforms.
Key Experience and Skills
  • Proven experience and track record of managing Marketing in a either a start-up or scale-up within the media, advertising or sports and entertainment industries.
  • Deep understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices across various channels, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, email marketing, PR, and events.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, revenue growth, and brand awareness.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data, derive actionable insights, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Exceptional eye for detail and accuracy of assets and content created and published.
  • Experience of using/managing CRM systems (ideally Hubspot) for effective Marketing & Sales delivery through \xe2\x80\x98inbound\xe2\x80\x99 principles and practices
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate marketing goals into tangible results aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Creative and passionate about Brands (B2C and/or B2B)
  • A natural problem solver who embraces new opportunities (or challenges) with a tenacity and resilience that sees things through to conclusion.
