Bradford Council is seeking a dynamic and creative communications professional who can work proactively to a high standard and help us get our story across.
Working in the Office of the Chief Executive\xe2\x80\x99s, this is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced and thriving communications team where you will have the chance to work across a number of important areas.
As a team, we are always seeking new marketing opportunities in order to stay in touch with rapidly evolving trends and best practice.
No two days are the same, and you will need to be able to deliver high quality communications with local and national media. You will lead on high-profile campaigns, using a variety of channels and methods to reach and creatively engage with a large and varied audience.
You will also be comfortable working with a range of different stakeholders, advising Councillors, Senior Officers and Staff and Partners on marketing and communications issues in what is a complex environment with a political dimension.
You will have a degree or an equivalent professional communications or marketing qualification and/or at least 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a communication, marketing or related role in the public or private sector. That experience is likely to come from one or more of media relations, PR, marketing or internal, stakeholder or digital communications.
You will be expected to work across all those disciplines to contribute to the provision of an integrated marketing and communications service for the Council and its key partnerships. The role involves occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday work in order to deliver the responsibilities of the post. It also involves being on a rota to provide emergency out of hours on-call communications.
You will also be required to demonstrate excellent written, verbal and digital communications skills, a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and deliver under pressure to strict deadlines. You should also demonstrate that you have worked as part of a team or cross-functional team.
