The Ipsos Data Science & Advanced Analytics group comprises of more than 120 advanced analytics and data science experts who sit across different areas of the research including Healthcare, Consumer, Audience measurement, Customer/Employee Experience and Public affairs.

Our role is to be engaged through the entire journey of a project from early-stage business development and helping the research teams win projects though provide best in class solutions, to providing guidance and advice throughout the design phase and to ultimately produce the analytical output to answer our client\xe2\x80\x99s key business objectives. We work across a very broad spectrum of analytical techniques from proprietary product solutions, advanced data science techniques such as text analytics and Multi-Source Data analysis, through to ad-hoc analysis such as Segmentation, Conjoint, Driver modelling, Product optimisation, Data integration, Data visualisation and Forecasting.

The role...
The Global Modelling Unit (GMU) for Market Strategy and Understanding (MSU) are looking for an Advanced Analytics Executive. This person will be involved in running day-to-day statistical analysis and supporting the team/directors in running projects. They will support the MSU Service Line in running general analysis.

This role will offer hybrid working from our office 3 days a week and the rest from home.

What will I be doing?
This will be a varied and interesting role including: -\xe2\x80\x8b

Activate

  • Attends internal meetings with client service teams and contributes to the meeting
  • Works with the senior analytics team to develop materials for most pitches / proposals
  • Takes advantage of the formal and informal training opportunities available
Build
  • Writes syntax/code to run analytical analysis
  • Creates analytical deliverables to send to the client service teams
Conduct
  • Liaises with client service teams that require analytical support (under supervision when necessary)
  • Develops understanding of different sampling and weighting approaches and the impact of these methods
  • Develops understanding of different data analysis approaches and when and where to use them
  • Checks data and outputs
  • Understands and applies the quality/safety procedures on a project and MRS Code of Conduct
Deliver
  • Strong involvement in development of analytical output
  • Looks for patterns and stories in data and make logical recommendations
  • Checks deliverables for accuracy
Embed
  • Contributes thoughts and ideas in team knowledge sharing and training programs
  • Shares analytical learnings from projects
  • Actively reviews personal learnings with line manager
Specialist analytical skills
  • Develop skills to write basic analytical code in SPSS.
  • Willingness to learn statistical software such as R and/or Python.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Excel and develops basic skills in VBA.
  • Practical understanding of the mathematical principals behind basic analytical techniques such as regression, segmentation, pricing, Mapping, TURF etc
  • Develops skills to run more complex analytical methods under supervision.
  • Working with machine learning algorithms is desirable.
What do I need to bring with me?
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience: -
  • Experience and knowledge of data manipulation and straightforward analysis is essential.
  • Experience in a market research analytics environment in an analytics role.
  • Understands the different advanced analytical solutions used and knowing what to recommend and when.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Displays a positive, \xe2\x80\x98can do\xe2\x80\x99 attitude and is self-motivated.
  • Demonstrates proactivity in supporting colleagues and the team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritise, prepare and plan well.
