What will you be doing?



Subsea7 are looking for a Marine Technical Engineer to work within the Offshore Delivery team on a full-time, staff basis at our Westhill, Aberdeenshire office.


This role will be part of our Technical & Engineering team responsible for Technical and Maintenance matters across the fleet(s). The role will act as a technical specialist for all Subsea7 assets specifically focused on marine engineering systems and planned maintenance. The job holder will have a good knowledge of planned maintenance systems and maintenance strategies.


Key member of vessel team as Marine Technical Engineer responsible for supporting the Vessel Superintendents with technical operating issues Focal point for contact with vessels concerning Marine Engineering issues and planned maintenance system Involvement as required to assist Vessel Superintendent on emergency and planned maintenance marine / vessel related systems Provide technical advice on marine systems in general Involved in analysis of ship performance and technical improvements to be implemented in ship maintenance systems Review results of condition monitoring systems and if required initiate changes to Planned or Condition Based Maintenance Systems Act as a resource within OD to provide support with regard to planned maintenance related issues Promote planned maintenance across the fleet and encourage users to engage with the systems/procedures in place Contribute to the development of PMS implementation procedures, including philosophy, hierarchy and content Ensure that proper preventive maintenance policies are in place and support marine crew in the implementation of those policies accordingly Work within budget restraints for the efficient operation and maintenance of vessels Involved in planning, budgeting, performing and commissioning/testing of ship dockings, modifications and repairs Liaise with Classification Societies and Maritime Authorities relevant to maintenance of vessel certification Interface between OEM / equipment service engineers for team vessels Liaise with external contractors when reviewing / optimising maintenance regimes Liaise with SCM (Buyers) and Logistics to ensure spare parts requisitions are dealt with in due time in order to not jeoperdize operation of the vessel(s)

What experience would we like you to have?


Degree in an engineering discipline or HND/HNC or STCW Marine Engineer (class 1) Relevant marine/offshore experience Previous experience using planned maintenance systems (such as TM Master) within the Maritime Industry Good demonstrable knowledge of offshore vessel marine engineering systems A good communicator with a range of interpersonal skills Capable of anticipating vessel(s) requirements Sufficient maritime and managerial experience to provide a level of confidence within the ranks of the marine crew Good knowledge of marine activities relative to vessel operating parameters Sufficient technical knowledge to contribute towards the resolution of technical problems Self-motivated and willing to work within a team Travel Requirements: Worldwide as required. Ship visits and possible key Equipment Suppliers
