The Position:
Metron is expanding its Additive Manufacturing capabilities and is recruiting for a strong and imaginative Manufacturing Engineer to expand the A.M. team. Although experience in A.M is an asset, willingness to learn, natural problem solving skills and a can-do attitude are important. The position will also include some engineering design work (about of the time max.).
You'll need to:
take responsibility for equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary
decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
set the quality standards and maintain the Quality Control system ( AS9100)
plan and draw up a production schedule
prepare builds for the additive manufacturing machines
ensure that the production will be cost-effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and management
monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
liaise with different departments, teams and companies, e.g. suppliers, design team and clients
monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmes
collate and analyse data, putting together production reports for both management and customers
ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
contribute as necessary in any other tasks related to production including component finishing
Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing will be an advantage, otherwise, training will be provided.

Essentials:
BEng in Engineering (Manufacturing / Mechanical or similar) 2:1 or higher
3D CAD Skills (Rhinoceros, SolidWorks or similar), as well as 2D Drawings
Excellent Communicator (verbal, written)
Must have the right to work legally in the UK. Please note, this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
Desirable Skills:
ARCAM AM and/or EOS hardware-specific software (Training to be provided)
Magics by Materialise (Training to be provided)
3D Printing (metal powder bed)
