sia Abrasives Ltd (part of the Bosch Power Tools/Accessories Division) is an innovative manufacturer of non woven and foam abrasive products as well as a distributer in the UK of coated abrasives. The sites in Greetland, West Yorkshire and Alfreton, Derbyshire, have a wealth of experience in the manufacture and development of abrasive products, ideally complementing sia Abrasives\xe2\x80\x99 systems solutions.

• Support and drive a variety of CI tools to drive improvement activities in the manufacturing area which are aimed at removing non-value added processes and waste throughout the Value Stream.
• Co-ordinate the Alfreton Plant \xe2\x80\x98Process Analysis\xe2\x80\x99 activities for waste and productivity within the plant and manage measures to meet and exceed agreed targets.
• To proactively oversee the supervision team so that daily shop floor management is effectively implemented.
• Drive the manufacturing team to deliver CI projects by creating structured plans implementing new ideas and improvements in a timely manner.
• Develop strong and positive working relationships within the manufacturing team and associated functions.
• Promote \xe2\x80\x98new thinking\xe2\x80\x99 within the organisation to reduce \xe2\x80\x98system complexity\xe2\x80\x99 and promote a \xe2\x80\x98learn by doing\xe2\x80\x99 culture.
• Support the implementation of standards and documentation in manufacturing processes to secure implemented improvements.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and long-term improvement opportunities within the manufacturing area through observation, data analysis or operator engagement activities.

Qualifications

• Communication - Strong oral/written communication skills, presentation skills, manage group processes, negotiation skills, intellectual skills.
• Project Planning - Structure own tasks and projects in line with business requirements using standard tools e.g. PDCA.
• Specialist knowledge - Shall have a strong knowledge of CI actvities in manufacturing - Shall have a background in leading improvement initiatives and the application of Problem Solving Techniques, Standards & Process Analysis, etc.
• Personal organisation - Self starter, sensitive to functional relationships, structured approach, attention to detail, analytical skills.
• Information Technology - Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Power Point, Word.
