We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various machining tools and equipment. This role involves producing precision components and parts, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
Duties
Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to fabricate components according to specifications.
Interpret engineering drawings and CAD designs to ensure accurate production of parts.
Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations necessary for machining tasks.
Perform tooling changes and adjustments as required during the machining process.
Grind components to achieve precise dimensions and finishes.
Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
Adhere to all safety protocols while operating machinery and handling materials.
Experience
Candidates should have a solid background in machining, with experience in the following areas considered advantageous:
Mechanical knowledge of machinery and tooling systems.
Proficiency in using power tools effectively and safely.
Familiarity with plastics injection moulding processes is a plus.
Experience with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for design interpretation.
Skills in welding techniques may be beneficial for certain projects.
