About the role:
As a Manual and People Handling Trainer/Advisor you will be the lead in developing training programs, provide specialist advice, and support People handling risk assessments. Flexible working options available. Must have a teaching or training qualification, expert knowledge in the All Wales People Handling scheme and excellent communication skills. Full driving license required.
About you:
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to impactfully share subject materials to larger groups, either face to face or virtually.
Using expert knowledge to plan, design and deliver People Handling & Manual Handling in line with the All Wales People Handling Scheme.
Experience and knowledge of working in the Health/ Social Care environment
Understands current Health & Safety legislation, management approaches, tools and technology
Ability to develop, design & deliver tailored or bespoke training sessions that are well evaluated
Experience of working in a learning & development environment
What you will do:
Lead, plan, write, deliver, assess and evaluate training, in Manual/Object and People Handling such as single handed care, use of hoist, wheelchair and specialist equipment, People and Manual Handling Risk Assessment and First Aid for all relevant staff within Powys County Council.
Plan, write, deliver and evaluate bespoke continuous development courses in line with accrediting bodies' guidelines, criteria and national standards as requested or identified through service area Training Needs Analysis.
Evaluate courses and liaise with relevant colleagues to review relevant recorded incidents and implement updates to the course content for ongoing improvements. Notify the Learning and Development Manager of any concerns.
Whilst carrying out training you are responsible for the safety of other colleagues and learners, the maintenance of any equipment in use for the purposes of assisting with the training, equipment which must be in good working order to avoid accidents occurring.
Ensure you maintain your Continuous Professional Development to keep your skills up to date. Utilise every opportunity to enhance and broaden your skills base to be able to deliver training as part of any accredited training arrangements that are being delivered by the service
Keep accurate records of training delivered on our inhouse people management system - iTRENT, areas of concern, and success stories and provide training reports and news articles quarterly.
