About our Team:

Could you be our new Managing Editor? Are you?
  • Educated to at least BSc level in a scientific or engineering area; a firm grasp of the principles of research, and of correct trial design and reporting standards.
  • Experienced in journal publishing within a content commissioning/acquisition role.
  • Ideally, experience working with special issues/collections in Open Access publishing.
  • Excellent at managing relationships with communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior academics.
  • Proactive with good commercial awareness and a strong understanding of the open access journals publishing business and processes.
  • Organised with an ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Highly motivated, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Your new role:
  • Working with the Associate Director - Special Collections to devise and lead content commissioning strategies.
  • Supporting and guiding junior colleagues to follow these strategies.
  • Building specialised scientific knowledge of allocated subject areas.
  • Working with external and internal journal editors to develop a portfolio of journals.
  • Communicating with leading researchers around the world to carry out journal content initiatives.
  • Working with internal departments to improve processes and execute collaborative strategies.
  • Driving revenue growth via increased submissions of APC-paying manuscripts
