We are working with a well-established player in the UK potato industry, specializing in the marketing of seed and ware potatoes in both national and international markets. With a strong track record of success, they are now seeking a dynamic and driven Managing Director to lead their team and help to expand further. Based in Scotland, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the potato trade industry.
You will be responsible for managing a range of functions, including sales, procurement, quality control, logistics, marketing, breeding programs, financial management, and more. This position also involves travel to our markets in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, as well as organizing field days and trade shows.
The Candidate
-Proven leadership experience in a similar role, preferably in the agricultural or food industry.
-Strong understanding of the potato trade and related markets.
-Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
-Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets effectively.
-Willingness to travel.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
-Strategic thinker with a track record of driving growth and profitability.
