Overview of the role and our Team:

We\'re focusing on really understanding our customers\' needs and making the most of our great products and services to optimise the online shopping experience and drive growth.
You\'ll be working in the Product Function which sits at the heart of shaping how our website and app change over time. As a member of one of our Product Teams you\'ll work across a range of projects and activities, leading requirements definition and design activity while collaborating closely with IT teams to progress projects through to successful delivery. Our goal is to ensure we continuously deliver new features which delight our customers along with progressive \'behind the scenes\' technology solutions that enable our business to do more. As a member of the Product team, the work you do will directly impact customer satisfaction, online revenue generation and operational cost savings.
This specific role is based within the Customer Personalisation and Experience Product team. This team has a wide activity remit working on all areas relating to your Boots digital life outside of \xe2\x80\x9csearch - buy - deliver/collect\xe2\x80\x9d. This includes topics such as online registration, account and identity management, digital offers, website/app/email personalisation and the Boots Advantage Card and Clubs. You may work on some or all of these topics.
About the role:
This role reports into the Lead Product Manager for Customer Personalisation and Experience. Your teammates will be other Product Managers and Product Owners. The role responsibilities are as follows:
Product Strategy Responsibilities
\xc2\xb7 Collate ideas and development requests from stakeholders across the business for your product area into product backlog(s).
\xc2\xb7 Understand the business Enterprise Architecture underpinning your Product area; engage with major vendors of key technology stacks to understand their product roadmaps. Conduct technology horizon scanning activity and identify innovative trends and solutions.
\xc2\xb7 Assist with strategic analysis of the market and industry trends relevant to your product area to identify innovative solutions that could meet customer needs and generate value.
\xc2\xb7 Support future business planning and strategic planning cycles as requested by leadership, submitting ideas and project requests into the process(es) when asked.
Product Delivery Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Progress agreed in-year delivery projects through the business\'s hybrid waterfall-agile IT development process; ensure new work is appropriately triaged into the process.
\xc2\xb7 Define the high-level requirements for approved development projects working with IT Business Analysts and Architects as necessary. Own the resultant Epics and Features. Task manage Digital Product Owners on larger projects.
\xc2\xb7 Engage other areas (e.g. Digital Operations, UX, Data Office) as necessary, ensuring that supporting activity required to deliver projects is planned in and executed appropriately.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare the financial investment papers required to secure development funding, then drive papers through the business financial approvals processes.
\xc2\xb7 Engage with the SCRUM release planning processes, working with Release Train Managers (RTMs) to ensure product work for your projects is planned in and prioritised appropriately.
\xc2\xb7 Work with IT Delivery Managers and IT Project Managers to drive development activity through to completion, resolving emergent issues and engaging with governance activities.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure KPIs for measuring project/product success have been defined and are tracked.
In-Service Product Responsibilities
\xc2\xb7 Work with Customer Service Centre Business Partners to identify and assess key issues driving customer dissatisfaction and Boots operational cost; then work with Digital & IT to provide resolutions where agreed.
\xc2\xb7 Engage with the Optimisation team to identify opportunities to improve or enhance functionality and customer experience for your Product area.
\xc2\xb7 Explore data driven insights related to your Product area through use of insights/analytics tools, insights reporting and customer research.
\xc2\xb7 Engage with IT and external partner/vendor organisations to understand update cycles and end of life timelines (hardware and software) for the technology stacks underpinning your area. Have visibility of technology stack health and connected projects.
What you\'ll need to have:
\xc2\xb7 Certified Product Owner/Manager qualification is highly desirable
\xc2\xb7 Prior experience of working in Product, IT, Digital or another role with relevant transferrable skillset
\xc2\xb7 Experience working with scaled agile/SAFE/hybrid waterfall-agile approaches
\xc2\xb7 Strong stakeholder management skills including business and technical stakeholders
\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to consistently deliver to challenging timelines and changing priorities and being able to support/manage a virtual team through this.
\xc2\xb7 Resilient, with the capacity to stay energised and focused within projects and to actively problem solve to ensure the best customer & business outcomes are delivered
\xc2\xb7 Creativity - both to generate new ideas and to solve problems
\xc2\xb7 Technical and Financial literacy - you will need to understand the detail of IT designs and costings.
\xc2\xb7 Prior experience/knowledge of marketing and/or customer personalisation and experience topics would be a bonus
\xc2\xb7 Experience/knowledge of Adobe tech stack (ACC, Audience Manager, Target etc.) would be a bonus
