An exciting opportunity to work as a Global Consumer Insight Manager in the beauty industry. A 12month contract maternity cover has become available in the Consumer Insights Team of the Beauty Centre of Excellence (Nottingham + Hybrid).

In this opportunity you\'ll be working with our global beauty brands in the cosmetic, bath & body and skincare categories and on executing & embedding our global beauty consumer study which has company wide application

About the role

  • Using a deep knowledge of the consumer, ensure consumer insight, consumer closeness & customer journey understanding is at the heart of brand decision making, strategy and activation
  • Capture, synthesise and communicate the reality of consumers behaviour, beliefs, attitudes and motivations; applying these insights to develop irresistible brands
  • Work as part of the Consumer Insight Team on the development & delivery of brand learning plans and research projects to a high quality, against the brand\'s objectives and to budget
  • Utilising the suite of insight tools/platforms available and working with rostered external agencies - engaging new platforms & partners where gaps exist
  • Partner with the brand and marketing teams, playing a key role in putting the voice of the consumer, their needs in beauty & skincare and her cultural context into communication & campaigns development
  • Partnering with the brand, product & R&D teams providing insights to feed the end-to-end innovation & NPD pipeline; from foundational insights on unmet needs and benefit areas through to research validation of NPD concepts & the most compelling claims
What you\'ll need to have
  • An insight professional - experience of primary & secondary research for consumer understanding & brand development
  • Relationship building and partner - able to build & maintain trusted insights partnering relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Synthesis & judgement - able to select and synthesise different sources of data and translate these into actionable insights & recommendations
  • Communication & Storytelling - confident in written & verbal communication, able to champion the voice of the consumer, deliver insights backed by evidence, communicating & embedding insight
  • Research management - experience of working with 3rd party organisations/agencies to deliver consumer research projects: understanding the business question, developing the brief, agency selection & management, overseeing projects through to quality completion
  • A consumer mindset; able to apply insights and research learning to brands/business/retail activities: consumer understanding, consumer & brand strategy, communication & campaign development, innovation & NPD etc
  • Collaborative team player, willingness to develop and proactive about your own development
It would be great if you also have
  • Beauty category experience and/or knowledge
  • Experience in a global role
  • An understanding of global brands
  • Commercial acumen
  • Experience of using in-house research tools & platforms for qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience of creative packages, video editing
  • Knowledge of data analysis platforms like \'Q\' or similar tools
