The Manager for Climate Strategy on Global Impact\'s Sustainability & ESG team will lead the development and deployment of McDonald\'s global net zero strategy with a focus on the supply chain. in partnership with teams across the business. This role will strategically engage internal and external partners and handle project management, resource development, communications, and reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the continued development and deployment of McDonald\'s global net zero supply chain strategy across functions, markets, categories, McDonald\'s System partners, and advisors focused on climate impact and resiliency, including project management of vendors and consultancies.
  • As the McDonald\'s subject matter expert, build relationships cross-functionally with teams including impact, supply chain, customer experience, corporate and government relations, to bring this work to life for our customers.
  • Collaborate to craft implementation roadmaps and develop our measurement systems to track progress on emissions reductions and risks with Global Supply Chain, suppliers, and other partners.
  • Identify new partnerships, opportunities, and technologies for scaling change in a global landscape, including from McDonald\'s system and external sources.
  • Ensure credibility with key external stakeholders in light of evolving expectations and climate science, assessing priority areas for action and the intersection between impact areas in nature, water and conversations on public health, human rights and diversity, equity & inclusion.
  • Engagement with land-based accounting groups including at GHG Protocol and SBTi along with leading our CDP Supply Chain programme.
  • Manage the supply chain data and insights in the McDonald\'s GHG accounting systems to enable internal strategy execution, and to contribute to external ESG reporting to demonstrate progress on targets in a way which is aligned to global guidance and stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability working in a sustainability role within a global corporation or organization across multiple markets with a focus on climate and supply chain sustainability.
  • Experience in climate accounting, Scope 3 emissions management, and within industry working groups on climate and sustainability, bringing a strong stakeholder network and the ability to influence across industries, geographies and cultures.
  • A global enterprise mindset and ability to navigate sensitive topics with many diverse partners internally and externally with the ability to develop practical business strategies for complex global sustainability impact areas.
  • Exceptional project management and written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, flexibility, with a desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmental with multiple cross-functional teams based across the world.
  • Degree in sustainability, environmental management, agriculture, or a related discipline preferred.
Additional Information

Good to know; We have flexibility for the successful applicant to be located at MHQ in Chicago or our Shoreditch office in the UK. Relocation support will not be provided.
