Wasserman partners with Major League Baseball to deliver high profile events at London Stadium.
MLB London Series is a recurring event that features two back-to-back games in June.
Seating capacity for each game is c60,000.
Wasserman is the Promoter responsible for setting all ticket prices, designing and selling the hospitality product, event marketing & ticket sales, venue operations, sports presentation, fan experience, player transportation, player security and more.
Wasserman works in partnership with MLB, London Stadium, the GLA and London & Partners who all form part of the stakeholder group.
The role:
Wasserman is recruiting a Manager, Event Marketing to work on MLB London Series 2026 and a pipeline of other major events on a full-time basis within a 12-month fixed term role starting in July, reporting to Wasserman's Senior Director, Event Marketing. We plan to make the role permanent once the pipeline delivers the necessary work which may be as soon as Q3 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced event marketing professional to work within a growing team promoting exciting sporting and entertainment events. The chief responsibility of the role is MLB London Series. The role will be within a marketing team working on the event for Wasserman, with the team responsible for all our event marketing. Key objectives for the team include selling out both General Admission tickets and Hospitality packages. Work streams will include:
Development of marketing plans
Development of event marketing campaign(s) with the support of the Creative team - the 'golden thread' that will run through all materials and hierarchy/timing of messaging
Manage development of campaign materials for use across paid, owned and earned channels
Brand management - ensuring all materials adhere to brand guidelines and are of sufficient quality
Managing an external media buying agency
Managing electronic direct mail to a database of registered interest moving the audience towards purchase
Campaign performance tracking and optimisation
Creating, nurturing and developing marketing partnerships including with MLB, our ticketing agent, London & Partners, pre-sale marketing partners, NGBs, broadcasters, sponsors and others
Working with ticketing colleagues, hospitality sales colleagues and the ticketing agent to maximise yield while filling the stadium as you track sales against forecast and targets
Key to success in this role is to recognise that MLB are our partners and that any campaign and any campaign materials will need MLB support and approval. A collaborative character with excellent communications skills, high standards and experience working in complex stakeholder groups is therefore a pre-requisite.
The skills and experience you will need:
Event marketing experience a requirement including planning and implementation of high-profile ticket marketing campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels
A passion for and knowledge of baseball is not required or expected, though of course it would be an advantage
Experience of working with premium brands and their quality standards is a requirement
Ability to measure and evaluate campaign success with experience of optimisation techniques
Ability to multi-task; you will be working across a number of activities with tight deadlines
Ability to enthuse and motivate others
A keen interest in marketing best practise and staying across industry developments
A creative thinker who can provide council to our stakeholders and partners
Proactive and able to work both as part of a team and independently
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written with attention to detail
