Role: Management Accountant

Location: Worcester - 1 day in the office, 4 days from home

Salary: \xc2\xa343k to \xc2\xa350k

Experienced Management Accountant sought for our excellent Public Sector client based in Worcester on a permanent basis.

Key Objectives:

• Provide a highly professional management accountancy service on behalf of the Director of Finance covering the annual cycle of revenue accounting - business planning, budget setting, budget reporting, monitoring, and budget management
• Identify, support and maximize opportunities for income generation
• Work with managers and internal stakeholders in the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual savings plans
• Provide a management accounts service which includes managing a member of staff within the management accounts team
• Providing financial and service advice both internally and externally

Key responsibilities for the Management Accountant:

• To deliver management accountancy services over the financial year utilising expert knowledge of financial, accountancy and budgetary procedures
• Sole responsibility for the setting up of the budget books across the service delivery units
• Responsible for the provision of complete, accurate, and timely monthly budgetary information
• To provide monthly forecasts of the year-end revenue position, interpreting and advising where necessary
• To advise managers on adverse budget positions
• To analyse and interpret external guidance
• Assist in the completion of financial returns

Person Specification:

• Fully qualified
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience
• Demonstrable experience in management accounting
