We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Management Accountant to produce accurate and timely management accounts for their specific business areas. You\xe2\x80\x99ll use your experience in management accounting, financial planning and modelling to work closely with other members of your finance team, budget holders and operational teams to ensure the accounts are accurate and that appropriate financial controls are in place.
This is a great opportunity for a part or newly qualified accountant, looking to develop within management accounts or potentially move into or more analytical role in the future. Cancer Research UK is a large, complex organisation, with nearly 600 shops , an events team delivering 570 events a year, a large operational organisation of around 4,000 people, and a research organisation with five labourites, so there are lots of opportunities to progress and gain experience within various areas of finance, working across a variety of business areas.

What will I be doing?
Own and deliver timely, high quality and accurate management accounts (or other business critical reports) for your specified business areas
Work with other members of your finance team, and budget holders to understand major variances to plan/prior years
Work closely with the finance analysts and budget holders in your specified areas to identify and process transactions needed to ensure accounts are complete and correct
Be a key finance point of contact for your specified areas, ensuring appropriate financial controls are being adhered to, challenging and offering solutions to stakeholders as appropriate.
Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies in management accounting processes
Support the year end audit and production of the annual report, accounts and analysis, ensuring accounts are correct for your areas and supporting specific notes to the accounts and audit queries as required.
Support the financial planning, budget and forecasting process, for example by building budgeting/forecasting tools and templates and producing analysis
What skills will I need?
Part-qualified accountant (or by experience)
Experience of management accounting, financial planning and modelling.
Shows dedication and accountability. Can set and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and effectively managing expectations
Question what you and the wider team are doing and strive for continuous improvement
Strong excel skills and confidence with data manipulation, has previously worked with large, complex data sets and multiple systems
Demonstrate the ability to communicate well and build strong and collaborative relationships
Become a key finance point of contact for your specified Directorate areas providing support and developing levels of financial management awareness
