What will you do?

The Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in providing accurate financial information and analysis to support strategic decision-making within the organisation. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing various financial activities and ensuring adherence to accounting principles and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

Analyse financial data and provide insights into trends, variances, and key performance indicators.

Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future financial performance.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Monitor budgetary performance and provide recommendations for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.

Collaborate with departmental heads to ensure alignment of budgetary goals with overall strategic objectives.

Cost Analysis

Conduct detailed analysis of costs and expenses to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement. Provide support in pricing decisions and profitability analysis for various products and services. Monitor and analyse key cost drivers and trends to support informed decision-making.

Financial Controls and Compliance

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Assist in the coordination of external audits and regulatory examinations as necessary.

Business Partnering

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives. Monthly meetings with departmental managers to cover monthly overheads by providing financial analysis and guidance. Actively participate in meetings and discussions to contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

Part-Qualified individual ideally studying towards a Professional Accountancy Qualification. Proven experience in management accounting or financial analysis role.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes. Proficiency in financial modelling, analysis tools, and ERP systems

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Commitment to upholding high ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
