Robert Half Finance & Accounting are proud to be working exclusively with our client, a medium - large sized business based in on the outskirts of Harrogate, in their recruitment of a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. This role is different from your "usual" Management Accounting role, due to the size of the business, it\'s much more varied & offers some great commercial elements including support on budgeting, forecasting & commercial analysis (stock).

There is a large continuous improvement culture within the business and the successful candidate is actively encouraged to drive change across processes as well as embracing & using future developments within Business Intelligence.

If you\'re a qualified accountant, finalist or qualified-by-experience and have a strong management accounts prep background but looking to gain more commercial skills, then this role is for you! This role is built to be a "launch pad" role within the business into a more senior developmental role, with a circa 3 year plan.

Hybrid working is fully supported, and the salary on offer is up to c\xc2\xa345,000 + benefits.

Role & Responsibilities:

\xef\x82\xb7 Preparation of month end sales reporting by channel and territory

\xef\x82\xb7 Oversight of preparation and development of timely weekly sales reporting by channel and territory with a view to automating this process

\xef\x82\xb7 Preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations - stock, ecommerce, cash in transit etc.

\xef\x82\xb7 Act as liaison with the Operations team to ensure stock holdings are reported accurately, physical stock takes are executed, and periodic reconciliations are completed

\xef\x82\xb7 Review of reconciliations completed by more junior team members

\xef\x82\xb7 Preparation of detailed sales, discounts and margin analysis by channel and territory

\xef\x82\xb7 Preparation of detailed warehouse and distribution cost analysis by channel and territory

\xef\x82\xb7 Management and maintenance of selling price lists

\xef\x82\xb7 Line management of Sales Ledger Controller and oversight of sales ledger

\xef\x82\xb7 Preparation of information for inclusion in the Management Accounts Pack

\xef\x82\xb7 Ad hoc reporting as required

\xef\x82\xb7 Develop or adapt systems and processes to support improved ways of working and additional analysis such as discount reporting and our newly implemented standard costing

\xef\x82\xb7 Develop and maintain systems and process notes

\xef\x82\xb7 Development of exception reporting within the ERP system to enable the early identification of anomalies

\xef\x82\xb7 Support Financial Controller in provision of information required for annual and interim audits

Person specification:

\xef\x82\xb7 Part/Qualified accountant

\xef\x82\xb7 A level of IT literacy that enables you to analyse and interrogate data using Excel

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience of an ERP accounting software system (Sage X3 ideal but not necessary)

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience of standard cost accounting

\xef\x82\xb7 Excellent communicator able to develop relationships with both external and internal clients

\xef\x82\xb7 Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, work independently and work under pressure

\xef\x82\xb7 A desire to learn and develop within an accounting role

\xef\x82\xb7 Ability to support and develop more junior members of the accounting team
