VANRATH are pleased to be exclusively recruiting for a Management Accountant for a large, public sector body based in Ballymena. The Senior Accountant role will suit a strong all-round qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience gained managing a medium-sized team, excellent interpersonal and technical skills, and with a keenness to develop their experience within the public sector in a managerial capacity. The vacancy has arisen to cover a departing secondment who plays a key role in the central finance team and ideally requires an immediate start to permit a full handover.

About you

• Full membership of one of the five professional accounting institutes within the CCAB, or CIMA. (Part-Qualified Accountants also will be considered)
• A minimum of 1 year post qualifying experience in a management role in a complex organisation
• Experienced in working with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes for a minimum of 2 years
• Excellent IT skills including Advanced MS Excel skills

What you\'ll do

• Work closely with the wider finance team ensuring month end schedules are maintained
• Maintaining effective financial controls and delivery of financial accounting, payroll and financial management information for the organisation
• Support the Director of Finance in the preparation of statutory accounts
• Develop and maintain systems and controls for the accurate recording of all transactions, expenditure, accruals, and prepayments
• Prepare annual accounts summary and commentary for annual reports
• Liaise with Internal and External Auditors on annual accounts and audit plans
• Interpret and analysis of KPI\'s for managers in accordance with the organisation\'s requirements
