What You Will Be Doing:
As a key player in our team, you'll ensure our malt meets customer expectations by overseeing quality and blending. You'll be involved with optimising production schedules and collaborating closely with our operations team to ensure smooth, efficient running of the maltings. This role is about maintaining and driving standards, driving innovation, and delivering an exceptional product that sets us apart in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring, reviewing and feeding back to production on product quality.
Generating customer blends daily/weekly as required.
Working closely with team to ensure OTIF delivery is maintained.
Collaborating to develop and implement strategies to enhance malting quality, yield, and throughput while minimizing waste and resource consumption.
Assisting with continuous improvement projects aimed at streamlining workflows, reducing downtime, and increasing overall productivity.
Developing and innovating new systems to drive performance
Collaborating with production, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
Supporting the malting team in all aspects of operations on site to enhance Malt quality.
Assisting in development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and training materials for technical processes. Coaching and developing the site team in malt production, quality and improvements.
Staying abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in malting operations and continuous improvement methodologies.
Leading quality investigations and complaints and feedback findings to relevant parties.
Collaborating with operations team to design and develop recipes and processes.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Brewing & Distilling, Food Science, Brewing Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
3-5 years of experience in malting operations, operations management, process engineering, or related field.
Attention to detail and precision.
Ideally, understanding of malting processes, including steeping, germination, and kilning.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
Leadership abilities with a passion for driving change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Ideally, knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to malting operations.
