Maintenance Technician x 2Permanent Contract Full Time - 37.5 hours per weekWe currently have two vacancies within the Department of Facilities Management: 1 x Mechanically biased Maintenance Technician and 1 x Electrically biased Maintenance Technician.To provide technical support services for the reactive/planned specialist maintenance work on a variety of hospital plant and equipment to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.Please note, this post will be subject to Standard DBS CheckMain duties of the jobApplicants should have served a recognized and registered craft apprenticeship and will have gained or working towards a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and possess equivalent previous hospital maintenance experience.The post holder would be expected to carry out maintenance duties in an efficient and effective manner to support the successful delivery of a customer focused estate maintenance service for the Trust.Perform routine duties which may be delegated by the maintenance team leader with the minimum of supervision and have a flexible and positive approach to change.The applicants must understand and competently work on a wide range of Building Services systems with the ability to service, test, diagnose, and repair mechanical / electrical, plant and equipment.Applicants must have the ability to deal with new situations as they arise and pass on relevant.About usMersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust serves a population of over 600,000 with a workforce of over 9000 dedicated and skilled staff across 21 sites.We strongly believe that the communities we serve should all have access to Five Star Patient Care.Our services:Acute CareProviding emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.Primary CareProviding primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.Community ServicesProviding adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Appropriate training will be given as necessary.LINE MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThe post holder will be required to participate in the Technicians On-Call system and be the first point of contact for out of hours emergencies.
