TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Metals Planner is based within the maintenance department and is responsible for planning activities to allow safe, efficient execution of maintenance operations. General * Proactive able & to work alone or as part of a team or with minimal supervision * Can lead work activities to completion, including removing any barriers * Liaise across work groups when conflicts arise, work to rectify the issue or be able to identify when to escalate to supervisor when required * Provide daily feedback, update of work status to Metals Planning FLS * Provide feedback & suggestions to FLS to improve productivity Safety Health & Environment * Lead with safety; ensure work group understand the risks, control measures & mitigations before work starts. Reinforces the need to stop and assess if the plan changes. * Actively watch out for and intervene on unsafe acts * Ensure that Safe System of Work, e.g. Permits, JLA\'s & TRA\'s are adhered to Recommended Experience & Knowledge * +5 years Maintenance and/or Project experience in a multi-discipline working environment. * +5 years Field craft experience (piping / mechanical biased) * Awareness of live plant work constraints * Knowledge of planning process, procedures and tools. * Working knowledge of SAP or other interim computerised planning systems and software * Understanding of & stewards all the key processes that support maintenance Skills and Competencies * Ability to understand & react with diverse groups & operations. * Problem solving abilities. * Credibility to set high standards and promote continuous improvement for the corporation. * Structured, organised and methodical detail orientated. * Excellent knowledge of technical data and drawings (isometric / plant layout / equipment GA ect) * Planning aptitude - the ability to optimise work and break it down into logical detailed steps. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Adaptability & initiative. * Ability to work under pressure in an environment which expects the highest levels of customer services, confidentiality & ethical behaviour. * Teamwork skills and behaviours, which support team based behaviours. * Can review and validate LACD dates & effectively interface with work selection process * Ability to develop quality plans for higher risk work (eg requiring Safe Job Plans, Confined Space Entry Plans, Excavation Checklists, T1BP, etc.) * Creates complex plans
including 3rd party vendors, material, etc. * Understanding of norms based estimating for maintenance plans * Understand planning / scheduling interface in more depth - sequencing, relationships, "bundling" Key Tasks, Responsibilities & Accountability ? Review and validate clarity of work requests. ? Produce cost estimates as required. ? Receives approved work orders for planning. ? Utilise site planning complexity guidelines to determine the extent of detailed planning required ? Build plans that minimise equipment downtime and maximise safe/efficient/effective use of resources. ? Test the plan to ensure alignment with original objectives ? Initiate the interface between maintenance and other business areas to develop an integrated plan ? Work with scheduler to improve planning interface and resolve issues ? Produce a job pack as defined by site guidelines ? Facilitate planning meetings as required. ? Develop standard plans and maintain library ? Initiate the review of plan performance for continuous improvement of the planning process ? Define scope of work for contract services ? Identify material needs and contact suppliers ? Initiate procurement and track status of materials and contract services ? Maintain Equipment Data and BoM in Maintenance system (SAP) ? Add new equipment/parts to warehouse stock Reliability * Ensures that work is performed with a focus on quality and right first time with an emphasis on job pack and job plan quality * Ensuring planning milestones met to enable execution of maintenance work by LACD (latest acceptable completion date) * Follow the Management of Change (MOC) procedure * Drive work process and reliability improvements * Suggest and lead innovative solutions to allow safe and efficient execution of maintenance tasks Efficiency Improvements * Understand and reduce/ remove barriers that contribute to maintenance inefficiencies * Support and drive ideas for cost reductions * Drive learning and adoption of efficient work methods, tools and procedures.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, mindset, and commitment * Extensive knowledge of various mechanical skills (pipe fitting, welding, boiler making, electrical, rotating equipment, instrumentation, X-ray techniques and interpretation) * Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs * Ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings * Ability to coordinate various mechanical resources according to schedule and plan * Good teamwork, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with multiple workgroups * Familiar with MOC process and PSSR (pre-startup safety reviews) process * Basic safety training and/or site-specific training * Demonstrate the belief that accidents are preventable by including safety in assigned work activities * Create and share personal safety plan with work group * Facilitate and participate in safety meetings * Demonstrate understanding of and verify compliance with safety standards, work practices, work permit requirements, and various safety systems * Trained to safely access field areas to observe work being performed * Trained/fit-tested on usage of SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) equipment & various respirators as needed * Trained to access scaffolds & ladders
