Maintenance Engineer

AAK BD Foods

BD Foods joined AAK International in 2019 as part of the Global Foodservice Group. Now AAK BD Foods, the site is a producer of tailor-made restaurant quality meal accompaniments and boasts a portfolio of over 3,000 products. With the ethos "Chefs not machines", quality and innovation are at the heart of what they do. With its purpose-built manufacturing site based in St Leonards on Sea, the Company produces solution-based chilled, ambient, and frozen products in a variety of pack formats for the food service sector.

AAK BD Foods are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer who will supporting the Senior Engineer to ensure effective maintenance of the factory fabrication, plant and equipment with the aim of ensuring it's efficient and safe operation and compliance with relevant legal requirements.

Responsibilities

Carry out general maintenance of plant, equipment and fabrication of building as required. To carry out planned maintenance as directed by Engineering manager. To efficiently deal with reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment, to ensure the minimum disruption to production. To liaise with the Engineering manager and Health and Safety Coordinator about health and safety of equipment and in the use of chemicals within the workplace. To complete accurate and appropriate records for maintenance carried out ensuring the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual are maintained. To contribute to the development of activity, policies and procedures that will reduce energy costs across the site. To comply with current Health and Safety, Food safety and hygiene legislation. Carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.

About you

Recognised electrical and/or mechanical engineering award. Mechanical preferred Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. Range of skills in electrical controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and turning etc (Advantageous) Ability to plan and organise resource Effective problem solver Ability to use initiative Effective communication Able to work effectively in a team and alone.

Hours:

40 hours per week, 08:30-16:30 for the first month then changing to 14:00-22:30pm

Salary:

Starting from 33,084.13
