Position: Maintenance Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Role Overview: Based at our High Carr site, responsible for dealing effectively with any issues occurring on a daily basis in order to ensure that all the plant equipment and facilities are operational/available as and when required, whilst meeting the required safety and quality standards and supporting the wider team in delivering the business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Performing day to day Engineering functions.
Managing Reactive & Preventative Maintenance.
Regular inspection, repair and improvement of machinery and equipment.
Ensure downtime is kept to a minimum to ensure the cost-effective running of the plant and equipment availability.
Continuous development of the site's machinery maintenance plan.
Daily reporting to colleagues and site management on breakdowns & daily engineering activities.
Contractor Management, liaising and coordinating with external contractors for day-to-day issues/breakdown support where required.
Identifying and implementation of Engineering solutions & improvements.
Route cause analysis and effective countermeasures.
Ensure H&S procedures are followed during all engineering activities.
Assisting and supporting the training of apprentices.
All other duties as required by Engineering Manager.
Associated Responsibilities:
Managing site facility and machinery maintenance.
Producing Engineering reports.
Effective management of the contractors and supplier support.
Liaising PPMs with Production Planners.
Updating Agility CMM system.
Raising requisitions for the purchasing parts and contractor's work in the MES.
Mentoring Apprentices.
Develop & maintain critical stock/inventory levels.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Meeting Engineering KPI's, including safety targets.
2. Demonstrating excellent safety behaviours.
3. Work orders completed in a timely and efficient manner.
4. Supporting the requirements assigned by the Engineering Manager to meet the site's OEE & OTIF results.
Experience and Training:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Contractor Management.
Minimum of 5 years of fault-finding / diagnostic skills.
Minimum of 5 years of experience within and knowledge of PUWER/LOLER regulations.
Level 4/5 Mechanical Engineering Qualification, NEBOSH/IOSH.
Level 3 in Electrical Engineering / Test & inspection is desirable.
IOSH / NEBOSH Certification is desirable.
Compression/ Power Press experience/ training would be advantageous.
PLC interrogation knowledge is desirable.
LEAN manufacturing experience is desirable.
PDCA cycle experience is desirable.
Knowledge of Route cause analysis is desirable.
Essential Criteria:
Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems, including diagnostic fault-finding.
Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance.
Knowledge of Engineering safety (Lock Out Tag Out, Permit to work & Risk Assessments).
