Main purpose of the role:
Working both individually and as part of the team, our Maintenance Engineers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Electrical and Mechanical plant and machinery at our Whitley Bridge site. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 40 hours with the requirement to participate in an on-call rota locally agreed to cover out of hours working, therefore flexibility is required to meet the business needs.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
To ensure that all machinery and equipment is fully operational and in optimal condition
To be actively involved in the ongoing development and use of the engineering CMMS system
To maintain accurate record of all works carried out
To manage and monitor contractor activity when required to ensure they are working to the site contractor management policy and their written risk assessments and method statements.
To produce approval to work and permit to work documentation for contractors or in house activities
To promote and implement improvements in our site engineering to maximise efficiencies o To adhere to H&S and environmental requirements
To liaise with outside contractors and suppliers in a professional manner.

HNC/HND or equivalent recognised apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Effective communication skills including IT literate, Microsoft office/word/excel
Full Driving license
Process control (PLC) understanding
IOSH Qualification
CMMS - Computerised Maintenance management systems knowledge and experience. Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to use own initiative and solve problems
