Role Summary:



To assist in the manufacture of Printed Folded Cartons to the required specification, in line with business and customer objectives.

The primary purpose of this role is to set and run cut & crease machinery against the prescribed quality standards & customer specifications supplied, ensuring that a health and safety focus is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities:



Prepare all relevant material components to operate the machine throughout the shift. This involves heavy lifting and manual handling of large items

Maintain optimum speeds for the machine while at the same time ensuring customer quality standards are met

Segregation of work using manual, dextrous processes

Pushing and pulling of loaded pallets onto and off the machine using a lifting device

Lifting tooling, dies and stripping equipment onto the machine and into a storage area using high access platforms

Ensure the machine is maintained in good mechanical working order meeting all Company standards

Responsible for ensuring that the housekeeping of machinery and the working area is maintained to the required standard

Be responsible for both product and mechanical fault finding while operating

Identify areas of improvements and work in a proactive manner

Communicate, practice and promote the values, ethics and culture of Harrison Packaging

Any other duties that can be reasonably expected of the role

Knowledge, skills and experience:



No qualifications required but previous experience in manufacturing would be advantageous. However, whilst previous experience is an advantage, an attitude to learn is more important

Positive "can do" attitude, and flexible to work on a variety of different sections within the department when required

Flexibility at times of change is also key

The ability to be thorough and pay attention to detail

Working well with others in a small team is a regular part of the role

Patience and the ability to work well during busy production periods

The ability to accept direction and work without constant supervision

Physical skills like movement, coordination and dexterity

Excellent verbal communication skills

Continental shift pattern

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.44-16.84 per hour
