Lymphoedema Practitioner - Part-Time (2 Days Per Week) Are you passionate about helping people manage long-term conditions and make a real difference in their quality of life? Join our dedicated team as a Lymphoedema Practitioner at the Royal Surrey.



This part-time role (2 days per week) offers the opportunity to support patients in managing lymphoedema, empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. No previous experience in lymphoedema care? No problem! Full training will be provided to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need.



We're looking for someone who:

An opportunity has arisen for 15 hours per week (2 days) within the lymphoedema service at the Beacon Centre, also providing clinics at Farnham Hospital, Woking community Hospital, Haslemere hospital, and Staines.



The team provides a nurse and Physiotherapy led specialist service for adults with cancer and non cancer related lymphoedema in Guildford and Waverley and surrounding areas. The team are based at the Beacon Centre in Guildford, with satellite clinics in surrounding areas.



The lymphoedema service is delivered to patients as part of the adult community services at the Royal Surrey Foundation Trust. The service offers clinics both virtual and face to face, and home visits.

The lymphoedema team is a small team of expert physiotherapists and nurses working closely with the tissue viability team, oncology teams, community nurses, practice nurses, other specialist nurses and care homes across the RSFT. The team provides clinical advice on all lymphoedema and chronic oedema management in the community setting, m onitoring and driving down cellulitis incidence across the community division.



The team are based at the Beacon Centre, and provide clinics in Staines, Farnham, Woking and Haslemere, with travel required to other community sites.



1. This post a permanent post for 2 days per week.



2. This post is to provide advice and treatment for patients with lymphoedema. Following induction and training the post holder will autonomously assess and treat patient with lymphoedema. This will include taking a full medical history, diagnosing lymphoedema, identifying causes and carrying out treatment. The treatment includes complex decongestive therapy (manual lymphatic drainage and compression bandaging). The overall aim of the lymphoedema service is to empower patient to self-manage their lymphoedema which is a lifelong condition.



3. Skills/ Person Specification -

The applicant needs to have a passion for treating individuals with lymphoedema.



Applicants will need to demonstrate ability to promote high standards of care with a desire to consistently improve patient outcomes and an ability to work independently.



The applicant needs to have evidence of recent related continuous professional development.
