Job Title: SEN LSA Role, 1:1
Location: Braintree, Essex

Contract Type: Long Term

Many children and vulnerable students aged 11-18 with Autism and ADHD face significant communication difficulties and exhibit anti-social or inappropriate behavior. It can be challenging for them to express their emotions and have them acknowledged.
However, children with an EHCP for Autism and ADHD often find solace and connection through improvised art and music-making. Art and music therapy can create meaningful connections for those who are often isolated and frustrated.

This role covers a range of learning levels, from EYS (Early Years) to KS2 (Key Stage 2). The children have varying levels of independence, but they all live with their families or receive residential care and support throughout their lives.

In addition to Art Therapy, this role provides a solid foundation for those aspiring to work in occupational therapy, clinical psychology, educational psychology, or child development. It brings out holistic, therapeutic, and restorative qualities and skills, which are essential for future qualified therapists. To pursue an Art MA, it is crucial to have 9-12 months of paid experience to assess your suitability and interest in these areas.

The focus of this role is to bring joy, stimuli, and recognition to the children. The approach and objectives will be tailored to each child\'s learning ability. Many children find the greatest enjoyment in these experiences.
