About the Role

As a Lorry Loader - Oil Management Unit, you will be required to live within a 45-minute commute of our Thorpe Marsh site in Doncaster as you will cover circa 200 substations in the NE region. There is the option to support nationally across the whole of England and Wales via overtime with overnight stays where applicable. The Lorry Loader - Oil Management Unit will join our Oil Management unit (OMU) supporting our substations and oil filled assets and providing oil top ups and processing for transformers and circuit breakers. Working nationwide across England and Wales, you\'ll provide a delivery and collection service for OMU assets such as top-up tank, diverter kits, selector kits, dry-air machines and other equipment. Ensuring a safe working environment at the location, and effective delivery of allocated projects in line with compliance and site requirements, you will ensure equipment is fit for purpose prior to delivery and at point of collection. In addition, you will carry out inspections, testing and ordering to ensure equipment and vehicles are available for use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and collect OMU equipment and assets
  • Ensure equipment is fit for purpose prior to delivery and at point of collection
  • Drive the Lorry Loader vehicle
  • Operate the crane to load/unload equipment/assets from vehicle bed to designated substation point
  • Provide the customer interface for Lorry Loader work at the substation
  • Provide cover at the OMU facilities as required
  • Complete tanker deliveries/collections, tank farm operation, mobile tank preparation and maintenance, PCB equipment dismantling and plant operation and bushing oil preparation
  • Complete periodic maintenance equipment such as replacing filter, strainers and coellessors
  • Assist Mobile Technicians and Operators to undertake repairs such as pump replacements
  • Complete housekeeping and site maintenance, site routines and inspections as required
  • Assist with mobile support, towing equipment and flood defences deployment
  • Carry out inspections, testing and ordering to ensure all equipment and vehicles are available for use
About You

Essential:
  • A full driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK
  • An HGV Class 1 or 2 licence
  • HGV Class 2 driving experience
Desirable:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Waste Management
  • Fork-Lift truck experience
  • Lorry mounted crane experience
  • Technical experience of lorry loader plant and equipment
  • Substation experience
  • Experience of carriage of hazardous fluids
