A local authority based in the West Midlands is giving you the opportunity to join their Looked After Children Team! You will be joining a friendly and ambitious team who are highly focussed on positive outcomes for their children in care!.
This local authority is offering an ongoing contract giving you the stability and time to ensure that you can make the most positive and effective impact possible! The Looked After Children team is so welcoming and supportive that we have seen agency workers stay for over 12 months and eventually choose to join permanently!
The team is working on a 4 week duty rota which will provide you with an excellent work life balance and gives you more autonomy when managing your schedule. You\xe2\x80\x99ll only need to be in the office on Wednesdays and carry out visits in person so the majority of work is home or field-based!
With this local authority, once a decision has been made that a child/children are going to remain in Foster Care under S20 or by Court Orders, the case will transfer to the LAC Team. Children will be supported in this team until they are 21 years old (25 years old if they are engaged in education or training). They will have visits from their social worker every 6 weeks within the first year of being in care, and then every 12 weeks after this time. Often children can be placed outside of the local authority area so you must be able to make visits to see these children in line with the statutory requirements. The social worker will arrange and attend LAC reviews for the child to ensure all the outcomes are regularly achieved for the child/children.
