Brief Description of Role (i.e. purpose of role)
To support the Logistics Planning function in sourcing, booking, scheduling and planning trucking resource across a specified area or region from approved hauliers, in budget, and with a principal focus on customer service.
Key Activities & Responsibilities (Level Basic / Intermediate / Advanced)
Key Activity 1 - Health & Safety approx. - 5% time
Responsible for one's own, co-workers and stakeholders health and safety.
Key Activity 2 - Administration - approx. 30% time
Support the Truck Planners with order status management and updates:
Order status updates (Receipt/ ETAS/ Completion ect).
Order deviation notes and information in ERP System.
Transport Documentation Management.
Key Activity 3 - Planning Support - approx. 30% time
Support truck planners in the creation and sharing of supplier instructions for but not limited to: trucking, tank cleaning and product heating.
Management of central email box.
Be part of a shift pattern covering the hours of 07:00-18:00.
Be on part of an on-call out of hours rota.
Key Activity 4 - Communication - approx. 20% time
Liaise closely and positively with the Customer Service Teams regarding customer requirements, changes, challenges and delays.
Assist the Truck Planners by fielding questions from suppliers (via phone and email) and sourcing and providing the required details.
Key Activity 5 - Personal Development approx. 15% time
Have a target of progression into a Logistics Planner role, through training, gaining experience and a strong desire to learn and progress your career within the intermodal bulk liquid logistics sector.
