As a
Locum SPR
, you will be required to work on a variety of cases, ensuring the highest standards of care while adhering to NHS guidelines and best practices. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills further in a busy and diverse clinical setting, making a positive impact on patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric assessments and take detailed medical histories from patients with complex psychiatric conditions.
Provide safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment for individuals within your specialty.
Offer expert advice to junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to patient care plans.
Participate in on-call rota duties, as required.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NHS protocols.
Ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards of care.
Supervise and provide guidance to junior medical staff and medical students.
Support the professional development of the wider psychiatric team.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
Previous experience in Psychiatry, including working as a Specialist Registrar (SPR) or in an equivalent role.
Relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g., MRCPsych or equivalent).
Proven experience in psychiatric assessments and treatment planning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong clinical and decision-making skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience working within the NHS or equivalent healthcare system.
Familiarity with [specific psychiatry areas or treatments relevant to the job, e.g., CAMHS, Forensic Psychiatry, or Older Adult Psychiatry].
Experience in supervising junior doctors or medical students.
