Permanent Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Maybole, Ayrshire

We are recruiting for a Permanent Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a mixed animal practice in Maybole.

This role is up to 5 days per week but open to taking part time applications with shifts between 8am to 7pm, ideally you would help support with 1 in 4 weekends and a 1 in 5 weeknight on call rota but this is optional.

The practices are fully equipped with all the latest diagnostic toys including a full in-house Idexx lab, an ultrasound machine, endoscopy, digital x-ray and brand new digital dental machine.

Daily duties:

The role involves consulting, case work ups and surgery. The practice strongly believes in encouraging all members of the team to utilise their skills fully whilst and they also provide training so that they may continue to develop their clinical skill set and knowledge. There is also a large team of 5 Vets and 2 RVNs alongside a customer support team.

You will mostly be working with small animals and farm animals and have the option to take on equine cases.

Key details:

• Type: Mixed animal (Flexible but roughly 45% SA, 45% Farm and 10% Equine)
• Start date: September 2023
• End date: Ongoing (6-9 months to help support new graduate)
• Rate: \xc2\xa3350 to \xc2\xa3600 per day, dependent on experience and payment vehicle
• Hours: Up to 4-5 days per week (Part time considered)
• Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends (Optional)
• OOH: 1 night on call per week (Optional)
• Sole charge: Sometimes
• Consultations: 15 minutes
• Team: 5 Vets, 2 RVNs and supportive non-clinical team
• Payment options: Umbrella, bank contract, sole trader
• Other: Accommodation and vehicles are available if required

Must haves:

• RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
