Applications are invited for two Locum Consultant posts.
The is a new purpose built hospital that opened its doors in May 2015. The hospital has 1109 beds and will provide medical care to a population of around 700,000 people in west and south. The hospital provides the full range of medical and surgical services including many tertiary specialties including neurology, ENT and renal medicine. It is also be one of the 4 hospitals in to admit major trauma cases from next year.
We enjoy close links with three universities and make a significant contribution to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Research also has a high profile within the organisation. These locum posts have arisen because of maternity leave. The successful candidates will be expected to provide a full range of consultant services as agreed with colleagues. The out-of-hours and weekend on call commitment will be 1 in 10, covering the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The week day commitment to CCU will be 1 week in 14 and for the Cardiology wards 1 week in 11.
It is expected that the successful candidates will either provide two General Cardiology clinics per week and one ward returns clinic every 6 weeks at the New Victoria ACH and/or clinics at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The other main focus of which will be out-patient trans-thoracic echocardiography with the option of performing stress echocardiography or trans-oesophageal echocardiography, if appropriately trained. Sessions are also available in Inherited Cardiac Conditions and cardiac MR, if appropriately trained.
