The Lighting & Club Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of all technical equipment within the venue, with a primary focus on lighting and DJ equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, live entertainment environment.
Key Responsibilities
:
Equipment Setup
: Set up all necessary club equipment, including lighting, audio, and DJ equipment, ensuring it is operational and ready for events.
Lighting Operation
: Operate Madrix and Chamsys lighting software and control boards to design and execute engaging visual experiences that enhance the atmosphere of events.
Technical Troubleshooting
: Proactively identify and troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during operating hours, resolving them quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption to events.
DJ Equipment Maintenance
: Test, maintain, and perform routine maintenance on Pioneer DJ equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Artist Support
: Provide technical assistance and support to DJs, performers, and other artists, addressing their technical needs and ensuring smooth performances.
Equipment Management
: Ensure the safe shutdown and secure storage of all club equipment at the end of each night, following established procedures.
Health and Safety
: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment for staff, performers, and patrons.
Collaboration
: Work closely with other technical staff, event organisers, and venue management to ensure seamless event production.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Lighting Technician or similar role, preferably in a club or live event setting.
Proficiency in operating Madrix and Chamsys lighting control software and hardware.
Extensive knowledge of lighting systems, DMX protocols, and related technologies.
Solid understanding of Pioneer DJ equipment and audio systems.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
Strong technical skills, including knowledge of signal flow, cabling, and equipment setup.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
A proactive approach to maintaining safety standards within the workplace.
