We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and experienced staff team who holds a minimum of a level 3 qualification in childcare and has experience. Our Mattishall setting is based on the primary school site it is a very warm welcoming home from home environment caring for children from 4 months old to school age. We also offer a breakfast and after school club. This role will be mostly based in our pre-school room.

The ideal candidate will also have experience working with children with Special educational needs, the candidate will be required to undertake small group interventions with the children relating to speech & language, experience in Wellcomm, TeddyTalk, Talk boost or similar will be an advantage.

Hours are varied between 7.30-6pm Monday-Friday Salary is dependent on experience. We are currently looking for someone for approximately 30 hours per week, more hours will be available to cover holiday and staff sickness. To start 2nd June 2025.

To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation To provide service delivery within the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, British Values, Development Matters and Every Child Matters

Main Duties and Responsibilities

CHILDREN'S CARE AND LEARNING

To make sure all children have full access to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, making sure all planning is delivered in a way that maximises their interests and enables all children make individual progress. To ensure that the nursery always meets the OFSTED statutory requirements. To be an inspiring role model for all the children in the nursery. To foster a secure bond with your key children and their families. To ensure their observations, next steps are accurate, baselines, 2year old checks and assessments are completed on time. To keep parents fully informed of their child's health, welfare, and educational progress within the nursery daily. To ensure that the risks within the room are recognised, considered and dealt with appropriately to ensure maximum safety for the children/staff ect. Enable children to become independent learners. To help create and foster children's individual development, safety, and welfare of all the children including the positive management of children's behaviour. To work as part of a team to plan, prepare and deliver activities to meet the individual needs of all children under Little Footsteps Childcare 's care including those with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities To work as part of a team to provide activities and resources within the nursery which reflects the multi-cultural nature of the local community. To provide a welcoming, happy, safe, and friendly environment for our children, staff, parents, and visitors to the setting. To develop an awareness and understanding of religious, ethnic, and cultural differences and incorporate these into activities and the daily routine of the nursery to support children's understanding of differences. To help support the delivery of snacks and main meals for children in the nursery, being aware of individual dietary requirements and following the nurseries food policy. To contribute to providing a safe and secure environment for the children in the nursery ensuring risk assessments are carried out daily and reporting any concerns to your Health & Safety Officer. To attend and contribute to nursery staff meetings as required these are held after nursery hours, you will receive advance notice of when these will be.
SAFEGUARDING

To ensure all necessary steps during the day are taken to always keep children safe and well. To report any concerns to the Nurseries Designated Safeguarding officer. To ensure the observe, record, report procedure is followed when reporting safeguarding concerns. To understand Little Footsteps Childcare safeguarding policy and procedures To keep abreast of any changes to the safeguarding policy and procedures
Salary: 7- 12.85 per hour depending on age and experience.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent, Could possibly be term time only if required.
