We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a thorough understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing vital support to our legal professionals. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills, enabling them to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join this successful and growing Family Law firm. You will be required to work alongside ambitious and specialist individuals with plenty of opportunity for personal development in a welcoming and collegiate atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Undertake general family law and private client work as directed by Solicitors and Directors
Transcribing digital dictations
Form part of the inbound call team including accurately taking and relaying telephone messages
Opening and closing of files as directed
Scanning and photocopying of documents
Taking card payments from clients
Processing incoming and outgoing post in line with agreed processes
Manage the office calendar
Schedule meetings on behalf of Directors and Solicitors
Maintain client files in relation to agreed standards and processes
Production of legal documents as directed
Other tasks as may be required by a Legal Secretary in a busy legal environment
Requirements
Having knowledge or experience in working in Family Law is desirable
Familiar with using a legal case management system is desirable
Experience with transcribing from audio and files and written notes is essential
Strong ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel systems
Demonstrate excellent communication skills
Highly motivated and possess the ability to multi-task
Organised, with strong attention to detail
