Job Summary


We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a keen understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This role is crucial in supporting our solicitors and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice.

Duties



Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and preparing legal documents. Draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence and documents using Microsoft Word and Excel. Conduct audio typing of dictations accurately and efficiently. Maintain electronic filing systems and ensure all documentation is organised and easily accessible. Communicate effectively with clients, court officials, and other stakeholders to facilitate the flow of information. Assist in the preparation for court hearings and meetings by compiling relevant documents and materials. Utilise Outlook for managing emails, appointments, and communications with clients and colleagues. Perform general office duties such as answering phones, managing incoming mail, and maintaining office supplies.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong IT skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to deadlines. Strong time management abilities to prioritise workload efficiently. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients and colleagues professionally. Experience in audio typing is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided. A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 23,000.00-25,000.00 per year

Monday to Friday No weekends
