We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to legal professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the office. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in various software applications, and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The applicant must have experience as a Secretary or have worked in the Legal Profession.
Duties
Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors and legal executives.
Draft, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence.
Manage schedules and appointments using Outlook, ensuring efficient time management.
Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcribe legal documents accurately.
Maintain organised filing systems for both physical and electronic documents.
Assist with the preparation of case files and maintain up-to-date records.
Liaise with clients, courts, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
Utilise IT skills to manage databases and ensure all information is current and accessible.
Skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel.
Excellent typing skills with a high degree of accuracy; experience in audio typing is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Effective time management abilities to prioritise work within deadlines.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is beneficial but not essential.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong attention to detail.
