We are seeking a junior family lawyer to join the Practical Law Family team in the UK.


Practical Law is a leading online know-how service providing rigorous, peer-reviewed resources, such as practice notes, current awareness and standard documents to help legal professionals work smarter and advise with confidence. About the Role




In this opportunity as

Legal Editor

you will:

With appropriate support and supervision from colleagues, research, write, commission and deliver well-written and up-to-date content for online publication for current market legal practice, of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and customer needs. With appropriate support and supervision from colleagues, maintain all content for which you are responsible to ensure it is up-to-date and reflects current legal and market practice and continues to be of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and customer needs. With appropriate support and supervision from colleagues, respond to questions from customers. Develop working relationships with third parties with a view to obtaining contributions of content or improving content through third party insights into law or practice. Ensure that you develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the legal market, our customers and their emerging needs, and competitors. Interact effectively with customers, consultation boards and contributors; and work with all parts of the business to deliver insight into business strategies, other products, sales, marketing, and technology development. Ensure that all content provided to customers meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy and relevance. Collaborate with other members of the content team to share knowledge and best practices.

About you




You're a fit for the role of Legal Editor if your background includes:

At least 2 years post-qualification in family law practice. Strong understanding of the law of divorce and associated financial and children proceedings. Knowledge of or interest in domestic abuse law (preferred) Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and consistency. Ability to simplify complex information into clear and concise language. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent knowledge of online research databases.
