About the role:

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Legal Counsel (Solicitor) to join our growing and fast-paced Legal Team to work with the UK, European and wider Global businesses to draft, negotiate and advise on national and international commercial contracts from a client, supplier and intra-group perspective.

So, whether you\xe2\x80\x99re currently in-house, or in-private practice; newly qualified, or experienced, given the importance of this role, there will be exciting opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge and develop their skill set within their role in the global legal team.

Day-to-Day you will:

Create and negotiate of contracts such as sales orders, framework agreements, data licensing, terminations, escrow, novation, joint ventures etc.

Create and update precedent legal documentation (including contracts and playbooks) in tandem with other team members

Work alongside the UK Legal team\xe2\x80\x99s Product and Regulatory Lawyers and assisting UK Legal Operations team with respect to process improvements.

Provide training and support to the business

Advise on and managing early-stage litigation and liaising with TransUnion\xe2\x80\x99s Customer Relations team in accordance with agreed protocols.

Liaise with TransUnion\xe2\x80\x99s Corporate Development team in connection with M&A activity.

Work alongside stakeholders in other TransUnion businesses globally, specifically those located within Europe.

Be involved in business change processes and frameworks from a legal perspective.

Essential Skills & Experience:

This role would suit someone with 1-5 years UK post qualified experience; with experience of working in private practice as an English Law Solicitor or within an inhouse legal team.

Experience of working on UK Commercial Contracts covering data, technology and IP, specifically within the financial services sector.

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to understand and explain TransUnion\xe2\x80\x99s standard position on all legal issues to achieve contracts that are in accordance with TransUnion policies.

Good understanding of FCA, PRA and EBA regulatory regime (specifically in relation to material and critical outsourcing)

Detailed understanding of data protection regime, especially around GDPR.

Ability to disseminate technical legal advice to non-lawyers

Diligent and proficient in the use of legal case management systems.

Good experience of private M&A process and documentation involved.

Ability to forge good working relationships and communicate well with employees at all levels in the business and with external contacts.
