An exciting opportunity has arisen for a

Legal Counsel

based in

Bristol

to join the busy in-house legal team of a high growth international company which operates globally in the fast-paced

Renewable Energy

sector.


In this varied and interesting role, you will be working with senior executives in the business together with internal stakeholders and external partners across a range of commercial matters.


Joining a high calibre legal team, you will take ownership of a broad and varied legal portfolio - from reviewing and negotiating complex client contracts and procurement contracts to dealing with corporate governance, compliance and some company secretarial matters.


What you'll do:



Contract Leadership:

Take the lead on all legal aspects of contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners. You'll work closely with the tendering team to negotiate favourable terms and support contract drafting, review and negotiation across internal departments.

Risk & Compliance:

Ensure that legal risks are clearly identified and communicated. You'll support group-wide compliance with laws and regulations on company governance, procurement, data privacy, sanctions and more.

Process & Policy Development:

Develop and refine standard terms to align with legal and commercial goals. Offer clear, pragmatic advice on legal matters arising during daily operations.

Support Business Growth:

Provide support in connection with strategically important company formations, acquisitions, joint ventures and market expansion projects.

Continuous Improvement:

Champion better ways of working by improving systems, processes and legal practices. Contribute proactively to company-wide initiatives beyond your core role.

Collaborative Partner:

Work collaboratively with all departments and senior leadership to close deals and resolve legal issues efficiently and positively.

Legal Guidance

: Be a go-to expert for interpreting contracts, policies and best practices, offering timely and accurate legal support across the business.

Who We're Looking For:



A

Solicitor

who is

qualified in England and Wale

s with demonstrable post-qualification experience. Proven experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with a strong understanding of legal risk, contract terms and compliance in relation to competitive tendering processes. The ability to provide pragmatic legal support across a broad spectrum of matters, including procurement agreements, corporate transactions, financing arrangements, data protection issues and dispute resolution. Experience in maintaining and updating legal templates and internal policies to ensure alignment with current legislation and industry best practices across the corporate group structure. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a strong sense of commercial awareness. Capability to collaborate effectively with external legal counsel where specialist advice is required. Prior experience in any of the Energy, Infrastructure, or Projects sectors would be advantageous.
