Job Description

We've established a new team to investigate concerns about if a registrant has been fraudulently or incorrectly entered onto our register. This role is intended to provide case work support to the case holding investigation paralegals in the team.

Purpose and Main Duties



There are 4 paralegals in the team, and this role will involve working with the paralegals to provide assistance in effective case progression and case management across the team's case load.

, the main duties are likely to include providing support to the case holding paralegals by sharing work like:

- Case work document management on the case management system

- Dealing with and responding to casework correspondence

- Preparing bundles for interim order applications, instructions to counsel or final hearings before the Investigating Committee

- Redacting or peer-reviewing redactions of hearing bundles

- Liaising with the HCPTS to follow up on matters relating to hearing schedules.

- Updating case parties

We are looking for a candidate who an organised team player with attention to detail. As this is a new role in a new team, we are looking for a candidate who is keen to play a part in working in a collaborative supportive way with their new team colleagues.

About the Department:



FTP Directorate



The Fitness To Practice Directorate receives and investigates concerns about registrants' fitness to practise, incorrect or fraudulently procured entries onto our register, protection of title offences and provides an adjudication function through the HCPC Tribunal Service (HCPTS).

We employ around 130 people, who are collectively responsible for the delivery of the HCPC's FTP and adjudication work. We manage an open caseload of approximately 2,000 cases across the department.

FTP Legal Services



Since April 2024, we've been growing the in-house legal services teams that sit within our FTP Department. Our in-house legal services now include a decision-making team, a presenting officer team, a FTP investigation case holding team, a Fraudulent Entry investigation team, a team who provide oversight for cases held by our External Legal Providers and a team who manage our substantive order review cases.

Pay: 28,500.00-30,000.00 per year
